In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to make your very own unique wall hanging plaque filled with tessellated tiles. Guided by your experienced teacher, you will create inspiring patterns and tessellations using our handcrafted tiles. Explore how shape and colour harmoniously work together.

Each handmade, encaustic smalti tile has been made as a whole unique piece. By using snips you will shape the tiles into geometric patterns, that, when assembled together into a wall hanging will create an amazing display for your home. Unleash your creativity by matching and juxtaposing shape and colour of various tiles.

By the end of the class, you can take home your mosaic wall hanging tablet to display at home or give as a handmade gift to your loved one.

The fun and therapeutic experience of working with clay by hand is a great way to let go of the everyday stresses of life and reconnect with earth. At the end of the workshop you will have up to three pieces created and ready to be fired.

You will learn:

• How to work with smalti tiles
• How to glaze tiles
• The process of arranging tiles and trimming shapes to suit a design
• How to prepare your design for firing

• This workshop includes all tools and equipment
• Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty, and wear closed-in shoes
• Your camera, so you can take progress photos of your work

We will contact you once your creations have been fired. Allow up to 4-6 weeks for firing process.
